There's no competition in the graphics engine space so Epic is not particularly hurried to improve UE. And this only affects PC, console games don't have this issue. So while it's unacceptable, I can see why they don't care.

Epic is improving UE every *day* with many changes to the codebase all over the place. Rambling that 'they don't care' is really not in line with reality.
Technically true I'm sure. Yet #stutterstruggle has been plaguing games ever since UE4, and the situation hasn't got meaningfully better for many years now.
Yes it has. Like I said above: I've played several UE games recently from start to finish without any stutter whatsoever. Games compile shaders up front and that actually works.
Plus gamers turn up everything to 11 on their aging hw expecting it to work with 120fps.
You mean Alex' push to get better shader compilation? I don't think it's a crusade, he's right in many cases. However I personally think that in future games things aren't going to be so bad (nor are they bad in today's games).
