There, per a search just know, appear to now be some alternatives. This is what I’m using with my AMD 5500XT, and have been for 3 years or so.

I’ve never managed to get one of these to work for me. I’ve had to buy Thunderbolt cards for my PC and fiddle with those to have any kind of luck.

every pc monitor at any price point offers multi-device-support. many of them even have full kvm functionality. there is no good reason other than »we don’t want pcs connected to our hardware« why apple wouldn’t do this.
