2. While it’s true that her funeral was a one-hour flight away from the nearest embassy or consulate, it would have sent a profound message if a U.S. official had attended.

3. I say that while also acknowledging there are much more profound messages and actions, but these little things really matter to most people.

Now, if her family asked that no U.S. officials be present, that is their right, but if they didn’t, this would have been such an easy thing to do.
