In important news to nobody else, I heard from the farm from which I buy lamb that the fleece from last winter’s is finally ready.

I know we get our lamb from the same farm. For the first time we ordered a half hog. I believe delivery in December.

Heh. I had to check, but it looks like I upgraded from one lamb to two and a whole hog, which I suspect will mostly get processed as breakfast meat.

We had never had anything but leg of lamb for special occasions so it’s been wonderful discovery for us.

D found a Persian recipe involving lamb shank and green plums, and that meant this summer was the first time we didn't lose any branches on the plum trees to an excess of fruit. Also it was amazing.
