Holy Arceus that is way unacceptable. Give them one chance to communicate, then try to see if you can get your money back, and make sure to warn everyone about the perpetrator.

Try talking to them about it, 4 months is a long while without updates but life may be messing with them, try looking to see if they have done any other comms or anything personal. They might be in a bit of a sore spot if they have posted nothing for the last 4 months. But if you feel your comm is-

That's also fair, which is why I mentioned getting the refund.
$300 and hardly any updates is not great.
So a refund is fair, but a callout post without knowing why there was a lack of communication may cause a lot of trouble for you and them. Especially so if the reason for it is legitimate.

I mean if this continues I will unfortunately have to make a callout post. They were dealing with something briefly, but that’s been sorted out as far as I’m aware. My patience can only go so far

Then it's fair. If you talked to them about it and there is no legitimate reason for them delaying on your comm this long, Then a callout post is unfortunately fair game.
Just make sure you keep things in order to avoid having the callout backfire on ya. Last thing anyone wants is a war between folk

I’ve been promised updates in the past by this person only for nothing to turn up…

I’m giving them until tonight to like give me an update before I start making demands cause the months long drought of updates for something I spent $300 on is getting a bit unreasonable
