There's no rule in journalism that you have to instantly report whatever the World's Biggest Liar says just because he's the president. It's actually much wiser to check it out first.

You would think by now it would be obvious to the corporate media that Trump goes for the Day One story. The truth catches up days later. Why can’t they figure that out?
At the very least, report what he says and add that there is no evidence of a peace deal, $5.1 trillion coming from Qatar, Saudia Arabia and/or the UAE, countries begging for trade deals, etc. Bookend every article with a reminder that Trump told over 30,000 lies during his first term.
Would be nice to if there were occasional attempts at push back and follow up to his face when he brazenly lies to reporters. How about an occasional, "That's not remotely true- what you just said."
Trump just makes stuff up on the fly and they always fall for it. I understand his propaganda machines carrying water for him, but isn't there any MSM out there who would still rather get it right rather than get it first?
“In a meeting, the president said things.” is all the media should write or say about trump, especially in their headlines and ledes, until they can fact check his babbling.
