We've had four fatal accidents - that I know of - in 2 weeks: this 2/10; the midair collision 1/29; the medical jet crash in Philly 2/1, and the Nome crash 2/6 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bering_Air_Flight_445)

There haven't been more than two passenger aircraft fatal accidents in an entire YEAR since 2005.

The med jet and this crash may not be categorized the same way, and other types of aviation that aren't "passenger aircraft" have their own safety records, but I guarantee the fatal crash rate isn't 2 per week. All of this happened since Dump took over and DOGEd up the government.

Note that this is just the fatal crashes; there have been other minor accidents. Maybe that's it for the year, a brief anomaly that just happens to coincide with massive shakeup to the regulatory and safety body overseeing flight. But I wouldn't recommend flying if avoidable until we confirm that.

In 2006 "1,523 general aviation accidents occurred, involving 1,535 aircraft." "Slightly more than 20% of these accidents were fatal (308), resulting in 706 total fatalities" This is USA only.

Note that there is a huge difference between all forms of aircraft, and passenger aircraft. You will note that those 2006 numbers are just over 2 fatalities per fatal accident, and per the report, 65% of aircraft are single-engine piston aircraft (see below). Fatal passenger jet crashes are rare.
