This is a welcome development, expecially for local emissions, but a lot depends obviously on the electricity mix. A bus that runs on electricity from a coal-fired power plant may not have a better carbon-footprint than one that runs on gaz. Hence the need to develop renewables even faster.

Just call them what they are : non-thermal.

No, but if we don't use the same terms we get a really confusing conversation. Nothing is without emissions. Like everything contains chemicals. But talking about vehicle categories it makes sense.

Of course some things are without emissions, in terms of magnitude. Bikes, for instance.

The emissions of heavy transports are important.

Of course bikes also have both airborne and non-airborne tyre wear. Like all tyres. The main airborne emissions from cars comes from the exhaust from non zero-emission vehicles.
