OC means own CHARACTER! Which means the best way to make people attached to your blorbos is to show their personality or lore either through art or mini comics! ;3
Avoid just drawing them just sitting/standing there unless you only want to highlight their design!

Okay, a slightly different question now!
OC havers (?): What has worked well for you to get people interested in your characters? Has anything worked better or worse than others? What sort of things have you experimented with?
(Quid pro quo, will share my own input in the replies)

But it takes much time and effort but it's very rewarding when people remember even the smallest details about them π₯Ή those people are the best and my dream target audience!
There's people who draw extremely well on a technical level, but yet their pics/ocs are kind of blank slates, cuz they don't get me interested.
While on the other hand there's people who draw relatively "simple" and get me hooked cuz theyre amazing storytellers.
Just an OC won't do.
i'm sure more people would love her it's just that i don't show off my ocs enough outside of discord DMs πππ
Don't think even half the people would be as interested in our Deathblight characters, if it wasn't for the comics and games we put them in :3
Just characterdesigns by themselves don't do all that much

And the more you add lore to your OCs, the more you show you love them.
