The most bracing aspect of this piece is how it illustrates how the legacy media has been engaging in a decade's-long era of propaganda for domestic consumption: there is one kind of reporting for The Barbarian Others and there is one kind of reporting for The Civilized Us.

Ultimately, I fear, the world will stop it. And not through diplomacy. In its 250-year history, the United States has never been the “bad guy” in quite this way, and I fear another global conflict, one that will have a devastating ending.

You could be right and that would signal the time to execute the exit plan. If it gets anywhere close to that, I will be kicking it in the Caribbean. Been planning for it since the 2000 election and it’s been down hill since with the exception of Obama’s elections. Even Biden just slowed it.
