tru, but with the mod tools you can set up to have bot accounts/suspicious accounts be immediately hidden from you which tbf have been working for me very well so far!

yeah just added a reply with info!! there's a labeler, the very first one, where you can set it up to warn or hide users who are mass dm/reply commission scammers

but no seriously, if you go and search "commission" words or hashtags they show up! they make it easier for people to find you or those who make feeds compiling commissions works/posts! if you censor it you're shooting yourself in the foot!!

those of you with bot issues i hear you, and just these two labelers help:
1. https://bsky.app/profile/arttheft.bsky.social - catches impersonaters, scammers and the like
2. https://bsky.app/profile/profile-labels.bossett.social - labels suspicious accounts/changed handles/incomplete profiles so you can block immediately if they seem sus

will it be 0% chance of bots every time? no, thats hardly ever the case sadly. BUT, they do the job well enough, theres always gonna be at least some personal vetting and looking around involved if you wanna be 100% sure someones not entirely a scammer or bot

also: if a few bots here/there convince you to keep censoring, I wont tell you to do otherwise, however IMO it does kneecap your reach a little bit, but ensuring youre rid of spam accounts is a two way street, you have options as the tools above can attest, I recommend you give em a try

subscribe to each, and then you can use the additional moderation tools they provide - eg. you can set up if they should warn you of a commission scammer has replied to you post, or hide the reply/account from the getgo

no fr SAME, but then once i set up my own mute/block words, labelers and such, to filter at least some bots out that pop up here n there, it was fine!
tags took me a while to get used to again too 😭
