As an RAF technician on the old V-bomber nuclear force, we were constantly shown military propaganda films reflecting US hegemony (Vietnam, the communist threat, etc.) Today the US political puppets of oligarchs tell us Europeans that such support was all a great free gift from the USA! Rubbish!

Super blogpost. I remember the Yalta history (eg Warren Kimball, David Reynolds etcon the FDR-Churchill-Stalin correspondence). It’s very strange reading, as it is so clear the leaders do not consider it realistic to push back on the Stalin sphere of influence. Inevitable.

A grim but good read.

Always thought the post-Soviet chaos of the 90s was Russia's Versailles. Humiliated and now vengeful they'll get the 'respect' they deserve. Meanwhile doctors in Moscow make $1200 a month and indoor plumbing is a pipe dream to the poorest.
