Also, Musk aside, Vance is arguably more dangerous than Trump. Trump just wants to stay out of prison, exact retribution and corruptly acquire more wealth. Vance is ideologically aligned with Project 2025 and wants to create an explicitly white supremacist, Christian, authoritarian government.

Yes on the continuum on crazy dark enlightenment nuts, Vance is far worse. the positive in this scenario being he lacks the cult following, so Congress would be far more likely to at least attempt to shut that down.

I don’t think Vance will ever have the same kind of support and “control” that Lord Dampnut has. I also don’t think that Vance will be able to temper the MAGA outrage that has been stirred up… he certainly doesn’t have the pockets or the political capital.

While that is true, I have my doubts that Vance could capture the adoration of the conservative base the way Trump does. Without Trump around to give his blessing to Elon every time he chews the wires in a federal office building, I'm not sure DOGE would be as tolerated by the base as it is now.
