Satin stitch is the devil, but this design by Vikasspace forced me to get good at it. This is a great memory of the day we took the Jacobite Steam Train in Scotland. π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ #embroidery #fiberarts #kimbroidery

It's so meditative and fun! I've done allll the stitching; needlepoint, cross stitch and embroidery. I prefer embroidery because it's much more free form than the others.
Lovely work! The trick with satin stitch is to use as few strands as you can stand (ideally 1, but 2 strands is okay) and a very fine needle. So yes, whoever called it satan stitch nailed it!
This is good advice, I'm guilty of using too many strands to make it go faster. I noticed a lot of her designs she uses the thinnest DMC pearl. I might try that!
Use an embroidery stand. Then, wrap the thread over your left pointer finger, then pull it out and gently pull the thread down. This way you kind of guide the thread to lay without it twisting ππ§΅πͺ‘

But seriously this is really pretty and you should feel proud of your hard work!
