Excellent thread summarizing a newsletter about how social media apps are enshittified by default due to ongoing manipulation of algorithms to increase views and interactions at the expense of our own agency. Human centered design was hollowed out long ago in favor of infinite engagement design.

Can't recommend this enough - algorithms were always pitched as a means of giving us a personalised, customized and "curated" feed but have quickly become a way to take away any control over experiences that the algorithm now hyper-monetizes
