I'm a therapist. I have a lot of patients who have issues with alcohol abuse. On a daily basis I guide people on how to overcome the urge to drink in excess and I promote sobriety. I drink a least a bottle wine every day.

Having all the answers is one thing, but putting them into practice is another
I don't know what it is
Maybe people are averse to doing their job in their off time, I know I am it's why my computer is in a really awful state all the time
I’ve been sober 28 years. The absolute best therapist I had was a self admitted sober alcoholic. I am unable to convey how helpful that human was to me. Absolutely authentic…
…It was clear he knew where I was coming from, and he had done his own work. He wasn’t perfect but I’d had experience with a therapist like you which only prolonged my pain. Look in the mirror bub. You’re not really helping.
Did the same as a Probation Officer supervising alcoholics and Class A drug users. Weekends for me were a riot of red wine and MDMA. No longer touch either so at least someone got something out of it 😂
For me i had to admit I was not in control of my.drinking. and as many ways as I tried to control my drinking I proved to myself i couldn't quit.or.control it on my own. So I joined AA and worked the steps.and continue with a meeting once a week now. Sober 5.5 years.
