In addition to seasonal and "timeless" or perennial topics, I have access to several different sets of monthly themes to choose from. I haven't actually preached very much, and will be focusing on getting more experience with sermon writing and delivery this year.

Whatβs your sermon planning like? Do you follow seasonal patterns/themes?

1. Identify context I've been asked to preach in.
2. Identify/select theme.
3. Reflect on already familiar "texts" that may be relevant.
4. Read. A lot. Then some more.
5. Stop planning, and wait. Pray.
6. Make a mad dash to write at the last minute π
