this feeling is exactly why I wish some of the more “popular” accounts would realize about their media presence

They are looked up to, admired, & they are looked to in times when we are experiencing communal grief/anxiety.

they didn’t ask for it per se, but they have power to help us band together

If an account is “popular” I usually follow and like content but never really comment or interact in other ways.

No one really asks for popularity or admiration in that sense, but if you have some level of popularity I do think you should try to help the community with your platform.
