I’ve been trying to spread the snow in my yard, because I have a city of voles who are burrowing tunnels and eating the roots of my grass and making little nests everywhere. The problem with people replying to my posts with stuff that's either angry or irrelevant is that it's the obvious consequence of me posting, and also I hate it deeply.

Truly my existence on social media is the sowing/reaping meme.

IDK if you already know this (and it's fine to just vent) but you can change interaction settings on posts after they've been made to make weirdos go away.

Someone randomly linked to a reading of your poem Christianity for Heathens & it just appeared on my discover feed. I clicked to follow you & already I'd already done so (must've been another poem). This is a better suggestion than what I have seen some folk do, and restrict comments to people _they_ follow. I get the urge, but then I get really sad that I can't offer praise, say thank you, or otherwise interact with the person.

I'm really glad Bluesky has this option.

No, it is literally repeating what the original poster said, not adding or commenting. I think it is something to do with bots making themselves look like real posters so they can later "contribute" to a discussion and not get exposed by scrutiny of their timeline. Saw this a lot on Twitter.
