In 8th grade there was a magazine subscription contest. The prize a new turntable.
I was determined and walked until I had holes in my shoes, but I won first prize. Then all my babysitting $ went to buying 45s and 33s.

That's beautiful. My journey led me eventually to the Grateful Dead. Getting there where it was all bootleg tapes, I bought a lot of great records. Then I sold them all to a record shop for $.50 each and hit the road on a hitch hiking journey of yet more discovery!
