not to go rfk jr mode but why does toothpaste need to have food coloring in it? i’d be fine with it being whatever gray or brown it is when it’s made rather than the unnecessary additives

Because I think most people would find gray or brown paste kinda nasty looking. If it's explained to them, they might get it, but your average shopper doesn't think that hard about toothpaste.
I was going to suggest we ask @Tom'sOfMaine (Colgate-Palmolive) but apparently (allegedly) they've allowed "black mold like substance" to grow near equipment and bacteria in the water that goes into their products. 🤢
Because people would think it looks gross without the food coloring. People that think about it more would understand it’s fine to use, but a majority of people wouldn’t
I think it’s so your teeth seem whiter while you’re brushing, blue and purple offset yellow, so the combo of white foam and blue/purple color makes it seem like your teeth are cleaner mid-brush. Grey/brown would look disgusting tho.
Vanilla ice cream is white by default. The only food coloring I can see is annatto in certain non-premium brands. Annatto is used to make dairy products more yellow.
I mean you still need to make it "appetizing" in the sense that people feel ok with putting it in their mouths 😅
Brown toothpaste would not be an easy sell, but I guess having the blue/green in there is mainly for marketing to make it associate with the concept or freshness and the ingredients.

Don't know how I missed that story last month.
There’s no shame in agreeing with RFK’s views on the food industry.
Too bad he’s an anti- science lunatic.
Hope it won’t discredit the ideas we agree on.
Also, hope McConnell rips him a new 1
