I call them brackets (), square-brackets [], and angle-brackets <>. Is that just me thing, or an Aussie thing? Are there better names for them?

I think this may be an Australian English thing. I’m not an Australia native and noticed people call ( ) brackets here.

In short: () parentheses, [] brackets, {} braces, <> chevrons (but these ones are not that common I believe).
That said, I don't like [] being just "brackets", as that's definitely a generic term that covers any of them in my view. And I can't spell parentheses. 🤣

[] Squaries
<> Anglies
{} Squigglies
[] code blocks
<> pointers
{} wrigglers
[]: Fred
<>: Angela
{}: Sam
() brackets
[] square brackets
<> … depends on context? I write a lot of html so I thing of it as open tag 😂 but would prob say pointy bracket
{} curly braces/brackets
This is what I call them with angle brackets being the only difference. But yeah brackets all the way down.
[] [square] brackets
{} [curly] braces
<> angled brackets
[] square brackets
<> alligator brackets
{} mustaches
[]: square brackets
{}: braces
<>: honestly idk, I usually say “less than” & “greater than”
