I've seen this too and it makes me so angry! 😭 If he was straight the devs would have strictly made it that way. Or it would've said something like this in the DnD books. What I love about BG3 is that it's up to the player! 💖 People need to get it together. And it's ok!! 😊
It happens with others too, like femme appearing or female that romance Astarion, masc appearing or males with Minthara etc too. People have their mind set on bullshit even tho its clear in the game that companions are pansexual. Let everyone ship and be happy is my motto and ignoring the assholes 😎
They are all whatever you want. Personally, I like to ship Gale with Lae'zel cause I feel she's a nerd in her own way. Also I just love their party banter, he's always asking her about the Gith and the Astral Plane and she loves to just explain. I think it would be fun to do an origin run with them
Yeah people were angry when female / fem presenting Tavs romanced Astarion, someone outright tried to forbid me from ascending Astarion.
