I've only done a couple of written stories, a few years ago, but I published them on Google Drive as shared Google Docs.

While those who use this site are most familiar with Google Docs, I know a token minority like TheBuriedTruck and Chase the Ferroequinologist publish them on typical fan fiction sites. The former uses Ao3 and the latter https://Fanfiction.net.
