While the russkie infuence in Bulgaria is undeniable and apperant, the Chinese one is subtle. The CCP has mostly free reign in Sofia. Chinese exchange students are a normal occurent in Bulgarian universities. I personally know some that are here and know very little English and Bulgarian.

Meanwhile nor Brussels, no Washington care. Von der Leyen is more intersted in garnernig support for the EPP
The country is left to fend for itself and most likely it will willingly surrender all its left sovergnity to the CCP in the future.
