My only complaint with Ghost Pro is that it’s pretty costly ($25 a month or $300 a year) to start a site with a custom theme. The base themes are okay, but I’d like to use the Atkinson Hyperlegible fonts, so a premium theme is the way to go. And decent ones run $100 up-front. 🫤
I’ve been considering self-hosting Ghost (perhaps via DigitalOcean’s Cloudways thing) and running any newsletters via Buttondown so I don’t have to fiddle with Mailgun. I’ll have to do a full survey to figure out what makes the most sense.
