The icing on the cake: these 19-22 year olds are trying to mess with a system that runs on a programming language that's roughly 60 years old. They forced out the world's best expert to gain access.

Oh, and if this system breaks by their hands, it will be essentially impossible to repair.

Not to brag or anything, but I'm pretty sure I could fix it. The code isn't the problem; the problem is the data that is potentially being destroyed or modified without proper controls or data retention.
Cobol, Fortran, Lisp, Ada -- not a problem. (plus I happen to be 60)
