With respect to Parliament - it needs to move to a new building and the debating chamber should be a forum, not something from the Middle Ages. It needs to be based on searching for solutions, not a default adversarial position. The current setup encourages the moronic scenes of PMQs, I think.

The unfortunate flaw in this concept is the presumption that most Americans are intelligent. Most do not want to be stimulated intellectually, they’d rather someone stoke their fears & prejudice and lie to them. This has led to American politics being corrupt beyond repair imo.

Politics always has been and will have corruption. What’s new now is the public brazenness of it be wielded like a cudgel being cheered on by half the people.. It doesn’t matter what they can do for you, it’s what the politician will do against “them” that defines American political landscape.

Even more so as a lot of these “politicians” are less public servants and more corporate puppets for special interests groups like AIPAC, Oil, NRA, etc.. there’s no good reason as to why school fundings are getting sliced while billions of our tax dollars go to Israel to persecute Palestinians.

unfortunately vast swathes of the country haven’t been encouraged to think critically, challenge themselves or look beyond something as ridiculous as how someone eats a bacon sandwich. We’ve been taught to be highly visual, low information voters who will happily vote against our own best interests
