What part of NM are you thinking about? I spent a few days in Las Cruces over the summer. Not sure I'd want to live there, but it was a neat little town nonetheless.

One of the suburbs right next to ELP, like Santa Teresa. It’d be like Plano is to Dallas, but without the shame of living in Texas proper. 🥲 We have friends in Las Cruces (which is quaint but too small for us), so we’re focusing on the west side of El Paso.

Nice! Yeah, Las Cruces reminded me of Lubbock, just with more mountains and water. I'm trying to hold out 9 more years here so I can retire early, but I may also become a NM resident if Texas keeps Texas-ing at its current rate.

But yeah, I get it. I love it when people are like, "Don't like it here? Then move!" because believe me, I'd like to! Would love a break from a state that hates the existence of most of its citizens... well, except now we have the federal govt to worry about now.
