That's a serious dilemma. I never paid anything to any substack feed, just on principle, it is broken by design. Nyt I still pay by inertia, they do still have good reporting with excellent presentation on rare occasions.

I think only a serious nonprofit NPR style could work, maybe.

The LATimes owner is not allowing articles critical of the felon unless counter-balanced with opposing views, this after not allowing its editorial board to endorse Harris. A prominent journalist resigned this month. All VERY fucked up!
