Good text JD. You wrote: “A hot streak at the right time, a few fortunate bounces…”. That will be a determining factor if Caufield is to get to 40. Goal scorers are frequently streaky. Also, if Slafkovsky plays up to his potential and becomes a force on his line that will help him too.

Thanks for the research. It seems it will be difficult to achieve 40 but I was asked at the beginning if I would be happy with 35 to 40 goals from #13 and I said of course so I guess that’s where we’re at.

Nice article. The easiest way to get there is to mix up the PP more. Meaning everyone knows it’s going to Laine. Also why our success rate has plummeted. So let’s fake Laine and go to Cole more. Make them both threats. Seem we forgot Cole was on PP

Exactly. A one timer on the right side with a righty doesn’t work.
But the play Hutson did vs Ottawa is a good way to counter the Laine check. Go to the slot and force the Laine checker to go towards him. If not, he’s got a free shot from the slot or look for an open tap in from Cole or Slaf
