I AM trans, have been out to myself for ~3 years, studied transness & genderqueer culture for ~12 years, & I still couldn't give a cogent answer to satisfy a well-meaning centrist's confusion & also not run afoul of our own culture's more fringe elements' abolitionism. There's just so many vectors.
