Maybe we don't need the jury. It should be plainly evident from their public actions if they have acted outside their manifesto/pledges, thus invalidating their mandate.

My concern would be the risk of bipartisan creep. Let's say party A runs on a platform of "We will ensure that Z stays in public hands" and then they go ahead and sell off Z. But a group of A voters are on the jury and they don't want to kick anyone from their party out of power.

I feel like there is no question of reasonable doubt here. They either did it or they didn't. An independent judiciary could pass judgement on that clear cut kind of policy reversal. You don't need to imprison them just bar them from any kind of politics. Like law associations and Drs. boards do.

Because we don't punish politicians, apparently. I mean, we let a motherfucker attempt a coup, he's been convicted of 34 felonies, adjudicated a rapist, adjudicated a fraud...

But sure, he's fit to lead the country. Totally okay for politicians to break the law & whatever faith people had in them.
