Well, maybe so. But my local library has free online access to a wide range of news outlets. Far more than I ever saw growing up in a small town with one small paper and access to 2 tv channels. There was radio from around the country though.

Computers were going to be the great equalizer. Early programmers believed that the internet would become the "information highway," giving everyone access to information only the wealthy had. Instead, we are drowning in disinformation and lies.
