Jimmy Carter admin was close to securing a deal to end the crisis in October 1980 just before the November election. Suddenly, negotiations are halted.
Carter loses the election. It would take democrats 12 years to recover from the blow. And this guy.

Guess what happens on January 20, 1981? Reagan gets inaugurated. Also, the host8 crisis is resolved.

I wonder if there is some sort of domestic ⏰ crisis or foreign 🌻crisis that will get solved just in time to be streamed at the 🍊party in DC.

The pitch to halt the deal was super simple: do not end the crisis before Jan 20, and you will get a better deal.

I wonder who else be in town by January 20 to claim their IOUs receipts.
