While I'm not an expert on the U.S. Constitution, I'd be surprised if decisions on this scale could be made by the Oval Office, without ratification from the House/Senate. Seems like a good strategy for Canada would be to delay until the formal reopening of USMC, then hope the House/Senate flips.

Agreed. All I hear now is “the courts will stop him”. Stop him from what? By the time the courts rule on anything he’s doing, months or years from now, the damage will have been done. Plus he’s got an active intimidation campaign against judges going. The US’s vaunted “checks and balances” are dead.

I suspect it's more likely that the US will find itself kicked out of 5 eyes. The rest has me very worried for friends in Canada, and the rest of y'all up there. It's a dark timeline we're living in.
