You could have non breakable ornaments. Lots of lovely cloth ones, especially at museum or castle gift shops, and lots of silver or other metal ones.

I tried a few different things but they disappeared. Found a bunch of bows when we moved from our old house stashed my the cat 😂. Figured it wasn’t worth the effort so I just have a big prelit tree and enjoy the lights 😊
