I can't believe I didn't know about your channel before today! Thankfully, the algorithm suggested ur video about the books you read last year this morning & was instantly hooked. From there, I ended up watching three other long videos across both your channels, and I absolutely love your content.
based off the first time we dealt with this bullshit, there’s a 50/50 chance the guy who owns that account dies because of the trump administration at some point over the next 4 years 🙃
The simplest concepts like "dose makes the poison" is too much nuance for some people. I guess when you're brainwashed into believing the universe is a battleground of black and white good vs evil with no in between you lose the ability to think critically.
Damn I've really been waiting a while to find a video like this, there used to be a YT debunker who came at things from a chemist perspective (MP - but he would prefer his name not to be used online) and I feel like your videos really bring a similar energy, amazing heading to patreon now!
The most successful album I ever got to help mix was for a musician who ended up being one of the most vocal anti-fluoride advocates, as well as anti-education, and anti-science. My naïve participation in that album is something I feel a moral obligation to make up for the rest of my life.
Yay, my favorite YT physicist is here! I'm sending this to my father who taught me to appreciate and respect the scientific method when I was young, who then later was poisoned by right-wing media into being someone who would vote Trump even knowing he was picking a nut like Kennedy to be HHS Sec.
I just finished rewatching this very video. Whoever thought a woman sitting behind here couch could, with great charm and wit, bring truth to the fore as you do.
What I hate about this topic is that I'm kinda on the side of the conspiracy whackjobs. Like yes, everybody should brush their teeth everyday with fluoride toothpaste, but why put it in drinking water?
In most of Europe we stopped doing that decades ago.
Same. Water fluoridation WAS a good idea. Also, people should learn how it's accomplished because most municipalities dump what is a waste byproduct of the fertilizer industry into their water and call it good. Seems like fluoridation for public health isn't the primary reason for doing it that way.
Do you think the atomic structure of fluoride depends on how it was sourced? No doubt some of the water you drink was also used for some industrial purpose at some point. Also that 'fact' about it being a byproduct is not true.
No, but the source is important because it can bring with it other ingredients. My main problem with water fluoridation is that the effect of fluoride comes from topical contact rather than systemic ingestion and you can't control dosage.
This is a wild argument because the majority of "water fluoridation" is removing some because it occurs naturally in some areas. "Fluoridation" controls the fluoride content in both directions.

That resistance seems to be a part of who we are. Stubbornness for the sake of Stubbornness.
Is there a way to channel those feelings in a more positive direction? I wonder ?
I highly recommend all your videos.
