I wonder if @blythygrog.bsky.social 's issue with raises in 7th Sea would be somewhat mitigated with the addition of Doom/Fortune like mechanic from 2D20.

Maybe call it Panache & Peril.

Players could bank it or buy Panache and accumulate Peril that GM could spend.
