Humanity no longer questions things critically but only believes in populists with short, pithy slogans, whether true or false. Convenience and the feel-good factor in the here and now are added to this... all this is still not enough
Ironic, to be sure, but his supporters are not the people who attribute hurricanes and forest fires to climate change or, worse, who give a sh*t about it.
The Trumpists always blame opponents for the consequences of the disasters - itβs deliberate policy to divert their followersβ attention away from the root cause. We have to avoid getting bogged down in distracting narratives and hit home the message that climate change makes these events worse.
Europe looks at Musk doing hitler salute during Trump investiture and says "this is irritating, because it looks like a hitler salute, but we are not sure it really really is one. And maybe Musk doesn't know the significance of this hand gesture, it's only been around for about 100 years."
They think it was all a plot by the Deep State using HAARP, cloud seeding etc. They'll need a different excuse for the next lot. Blame China. Or maybe Greenland.
Hell, this goes back in terms of the environment, go back to Hurricane Katrina in the New Orleans area, when the Bush Administration tried to tell the American public not read to much into it to much as if the corpses in the streets did not remind people of environmental dangers, what a bunch.
This will not change in the USA if Florida is hit by a hurricane with wind speeds well over 251 km/h and large buildings are razed to the ground.
The last hurricane had already reached speeds never measured before and was only weakened by favorable winds.
