I pray Chikorita finally gets a good final evolution. I adore Chikorota and Bayleef, but Meganium feels like a very weak and plain conclusion to the line

oh they are getting something alright! Just like in Legends Arceus they gave us alternative starter evolutions :> Megas are most likely given that these are kalos games
