This reminds me of an idea for a fake pokemon called Bookwyrm which was a dragon type that lived in books and had multiple evolutions based on which story you put it into, like a fairytale Dragon/Fairy, horror story Dragon/Ghost, etc., from a region I was designing for a romhack called Symphonia.
