Public health agencies and scientists do not pour money into convincing people something false is true, they do the best they can to get real information out there. OF COURSE we can all get better at communicating. But the disinfo campaigns have huge $$$$ advantages.

This is not the first time a public health agency’s communications have been spoofed and altered w/antivaxx rhetoric. We documented this in our analysis to the US response to measles outbreaks in 2017-2019. It was very challenging for health departments to overcome.
