Teflon was created in the 30s, discovered to be dangerous in the 40s and not banned until 2013, I know politically everything is bad rn, but this is unfortunately a separate issue

Teflon is used as a thin, non-stick coating. There are clothes made with it. It’s very possible that the item you purchased did have Teflon on it
