I remember sitting with two Asian women chatting years ago, Bruno Mars topic came up b/c he won a Grammy for "Uptown Funk."
Her: "but he's so short though."
Me: "um how tall are you?"
Her being dismissive: " I get it, colonialism." And then pushed the conversation somewhere else ignoring me.

I remember hearing APT for her first time, watching the music video with a smile as you can't fake that chemistry, they're happiness was so contagious.
Part of me wanted to go back and shove this song in her face to say, " we don't need sell outs like you to Asians..."
