I was telling someone this at the Principles First conference. Dems will argue over moderates vs. progressive all day but maga sees all of us the same (including never trumper GOPs).

I think Dem voters who think they're centrist don't realize most of the things they want in our govt. are on the progressive scale. There are R voters who want the same things but think of themselves as conservatives. But no one wants to be seen as a "socialist".

I wish we'd get away from the labels though. A lot of us don't fit into a neat box.

I don't see socialist or socialism as a bad word... but I associate it with DSA and I'm not a DSAer (although I do admire that the local group does volunteer work on cars for the less fortunate).
