Our puppy Caper just had her spay yesterday, so I'm just a couple of hours ahead of what you're going through!
So far, the aftercare has basically been keeping her from using the stairs and jumping onto the couch or up onto her hind legs to prevent her from stretching.

My wife slept next to her on the floor last night to ensure she didn't try to jump up in the pen begging to sleep with us in bed (she hates being crated even though we tried very hard to crate train from day 1...)
If you have any specific questions just ask, I'll see if I can answer them! 😊
I'm not looking forward to not feeding him after 8pm tomorrow/no breakfast. He gets a bedtime treat in his crate :(
Ours is a picky eater on the best of days, so that wasn't too bad for us.
I thought we were in trouble too, but thankfully it's been fairly easy going thanks to the sedation drugs (one is a pain killer that can cause drowsiness, but the other is just Trazodone).
Good luck!
