Overall story: I would honestly say that the story is very solid but it doesn't have the same emotional weight to me as the first game. Maybe that'll change once the true ending is here of course but I would not say that it's as compelling as the first game's overarching story is so far.

Gameplay: Hades 2 has the better gameplay for sure. Casts being integrated as your base kit, with the Omega versions of your Attack, Special, and Cast being extra moves that cost a resource bar rather than a charge is very, very good.

I think all of the weapons in H2 are broadly fun to use

as well, whereas in H1 I found myself largely preferring specific weapons more as a matter of fun.

That being said, the bosses are worse and are so frustratingly not fun to fight sometimes that I will just end runs immediately if I'm getting even a Death Defiance off from certain ones.

Eris, like I said before, is easily the worst boss fight in both games. She is simply not fun to fight, even after nerfs. Prometheus is a cool boss, but he gives you barely any opportunities to get on top of him. Chronos is fine but he has some bullshit that I still don't like.

The boons are also a bit iffy for me. I like that all of the boons aren't the same as they were in H1 and have mechanically been changed. That being said I definitely feel that certain gods' Boons are infinitely better than others. Hera's boons still seem so much less good than anyone else's.

Characters: This is my most brutal criticism of H2 but most of the cast I can't fucking stand lmao. Melinoe is fine but she doesn't have the lighthearted charm or kindness that Zagreus has, so she's harder to enjoy as a protagonist. Moros, who I assume is shaping up to be the male love interest,
