If you ever needed proof that these stairs/seating combos don't work, here it is. Jam-packed library tonight with every seat taken, except for these which are too uncomfortable to work at or spend any amount of time on.

Best argument ever to not design “collaboration” stairs. No one is on the stairs and the desk space is not accessible to non-ambulatory people.
