I've prepared for $70 base price since TOTK, and to an extent when PS5 game prices were first revealed. Nothing prepared for Mario Kart World's price holy shit
Yeah it sucks, but I think it's inevitable across the industry. I think Nintendo is the first to fully adopt it because #1 tariffs and #2 they have the exclusive IPs that everyone wants to play to do it.
ALSO, to be fair Nintendo's target market is families not individuals. So for the Switch 2 and the games that can be played by 3+ people the price makes sense tbh.
yeah i think that's part of it. one thought i had was that it might have something to do with GameShare; they might think that because of that less people will buy the game, so they're making up for it by making it pricier
